App Dev League is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to bridge the socioeconomic and diversity gaps in Computer Science (CS) education. Our team at App Dev League works hard every year to help fight for CS education equity and to provide technology resources for underprivileged children.
Since its inception in 2019, App Dev League has reached over 5,000 students nationwide, worked with 30+ Title 1 schools, partnered with over 25 like-minded organizations, and hosted 15 computer science events.
We are holding an event that provides a chance for your students to develop an educational game. We will provide learning materials for your school, which you or a leading member of your CS club can teach, and students can then build the application together starting March 24th. Specifically, these games have to be built based on a similar codebase that is taught from our lessons, have some level of functionality, be built entirely within the time frame, have a public link to the demo video and code, and not be plagiarized. For instance, one idea could be a productivity management app or a study app like Quizlet. Then, on April 24th, teams will be able to present their work to our judges and other schools, and winners will be provided prizes. Resources and guidance will be provided.
