Funds are limited and we cannot promise that a scholarship will be given. The awarding of scholarship funds is very competitive and set aside for those who have a financial need. Also, for consistency and fairness, we look at candidates for scholarship in order of submission. In order to be considered for a scholarship, students must meet the requirements to complete the scholarship form that is part of the LEAD GSLI application. GSLI Application Requirements: All applicants must first REGISTER before starting the application by going to leadprogram.org/apply. Next, on the Dashboard on the main page, select APPLY. On the payment page, students are required to pay a nonrefundable $50 application fee, in order to access the application. One Recommendation must be received in order to submit the application. You can save and continue your work but remember to submit your application before the deadline by April 1, 2023 at midnight PST. Applicants are required to complete three short essay responses, provide a resume, their most recent transcripts and a copy of PSAT/SAT or ACT scores and receive at least one recommendation. For their recommendations, applicants will need to invite and assign their recommenders to complete the recommendation forms. Recommenders will receive an invite through our application portal. Who should Apply? Qualifications required for GSLI applicants are current high school juniors who will be graduating in May/June 2024. Our most competitive applicants are more than just students—they are creative intellectuals, passionate people with multiple interests. Above all else, they are involved—in the classroom, in the community, and in the relentless pursuit of knowledge. An ideal candidate for the LEAD GSLI will be a well-rounded rising senior who exhibits an interest in exploring and advancing their knowledge within a diverse community. Expectations of LEAD GSLI, the curriculum is intensive, fast-paced and challenging. Scholars are expected to work hard, and the standards are high.
