Our remote learning programs help create lasting virtual communities, in which students gain the confidence to discuss important issues, learn how to respectfully disagree, and work together to build consensus and connection to their communities and the world around them. With the guidance of Close Up’s experienced curriculum team, students will come away engaged, inspired, and motivated to continue the vital work of active citizenship at home.
Join us for Impact 2020 – a unique and engaging virtual program designed to help middle school and high school students develop the skills necessary to pursue a passion, tackle a community need, and form a network with other young leaders from across the country.
Never has there been a more important time for young people to connect across distance and divides, engage with diverse perspectives, and understand the key issues shaping an election. We know that young people want to be part of the national conversation and are eager to learn about and discuss current issues and the world around them. Close Up’s Student Voices program provides middle and high school students with the exciting opportunity to talk with other students from across the country and more!
This fall, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, Close Up and the Institute for Social Impact will offer Empowering Female Voices—a program that will bring together girls from middle and high schools nationwide for a series of six online civic engagement workshops leading up to the presidential election. By engaging girls from different backgrounds in meaningful dialogue, we aim to help students develop empathy for the perspectives of others and build the skills and confidence to empower a generation of female change-makers.
