My name is Sean Uy and I am a staff member at the Community Youth Center (CYC) working with the District 7 Youth Council (D7YC) as a Program Assistant. I'm reaching out to tell you about our upcoming program cycle and am wondering if you could disseminate our flyer to any interested/eligible youth?
Participating on the Youth Council trains participants in leadership, facilitation, policy research, event planning, and community organizing. Youth Council members gain a better understanding of how city government operates, become more conversant with neighborhood issues affecting District 7, and give back to their community through a Service Learning Project. Our program will run from September 20th 2021 - May 16th 2022. Meetings will be held every Monday 5-7pm.
Eligibility:
Currently enrolled in high school
Live or attend school in SF’s District 7
