Our Climate Career Corps is a multi-year program that prepares youth for the workplace while developing green skills through education, work experience, and mentorship. Youth learn about ecology, climate science, and environmental justice while gaining work experience in climate-related internships and enrichment activities.
The Climate Career Corps launched in summer 2022 and has grown to over 339 young people gaining valuable work experience in green careers. The program was founded with our partner Nature in the City and has quickly become Enterprise for Youth’s largest employment portfolio. The Climate Career Corps deepens and expands our long history of placing young people in environment stewardship internships.
The Climate Career Corps is designed for youth to accelerate solutions to climate change and acquire green skills for future success in any job they choose.
Climate Career Corps youth interns will
Gain direct work experiences in a range of climate-focused organizations
Learn about environmental issues
Gain appreciation for the value of nature in our cities
Build green skills that can be applied to their professional and personal lives
Inspire and help build a movement that fuels climate solutions
Impact their local environments and see the immediate outcomes of their efforts
By partnering with a range of organizations, youth interns contribute directly to conservation efforts, participate in projects focused on environmental policy and advocacy, and learn more about corporate efforts to build sustainability into the business model.
