The FACES for the Future Youth Advisory Council is comprised of students and alumni who represent different FACES programs. The purpose of the Council is to create a platform for young people to express their perspectives and experiences and advocate on behalf of youth. Through their input, FACES for the Future can continue to provide relevant and engaging programming. Youth voice is integral to our work, and we are thankful for our amazing council members.
FACES Scholars from San Francisco John O'Connell High School are starting internships this month! In preparation for their hands-on learning, they have attended FACES led workshops on professionalism, infection prevention, patient-centered care, and more. As for students over at Burton High School, the 10th grade class received a visit from the UCSF Pediatrics Department and learned about the different career opportunities available at UCSF. 12th graders had the opportunity to visit San Francisco Fire Station 49, the department’s Emergency Medical Services station. Students toured the station and ambulances and learned about the roles of Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics.
