This 6-week series is a paid activity-based program for aspiring youth activists to explore media creation through a social activist lens. Youth will get to:
Build up their critical eye and media literacy knowledge
Create multimedia projects based on their interests and views
Learn about social justice, advocacy and mental health
Be a part of a community of like-minded girls* who want to support each other
Share and listen to stories from people’s lived experiences
Be connected to new and exciting opportunities for leadership
Want to know more? Check out the attached video featuring girls* who were in this program last year telling you all about it! These youth have gone on to design and run workshops, create podcasts, and be featured at our showcases and events.
This program is for Bay Area girls* 14-18 who are fed up with everyday narratives that make them feel small, girls who want to develop their voice to speak out against injustice. If this sounds like someone you know -- let them know about this exciting opportunity to join an inclusive sisterhood of girls* who are ready to disrupt the status quo! Youth can apply for the program here -- applications are due June 4th! Looking for something else? There are still seats at our roundtable event, Myspace to Tiktok! Join our community of grown-ups and teens on this Saturday, May 22nd from 11AM to 1PM PST for an online space that will foster genuine discussion between generations. A resource guide will be available to all registrants and available to download the day of the event. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!
All the best,
Program Coordinator
