High School Elections Ambassador [Spring Internship Program]

Dear San Francisco educators and administrators,

As the San Francisco Department of Elections prepares for Voter Education Weeks, we are excited to resume our partnership with Youth Works through the Mayor's Youth Employment and Education Program (MYEEP) to expand our High School Ambassador Program. We are reaching out to you because of our previous work together engaging students in civic discourse through voter awareness and education.

The Elections Ambassador Internship Program is a paid hourly program open to San Francisco high school Juniors and Seniors. The program will begin mid-April and will be a hybrid remote and in-person format. During the internship, students will prepare for Voter Education Weeks, from April 17 - April 28. This entails designing targeted campaigns, conducting outreach events, and rallying the City’s youth to pre-register to vote. We welcome new ideas and creative approaches to carry out this task. The Department will provide students with all the resources and support necessary to bring their concepts from planning to fruition.

This is a unique opportunity for students to gain valuable work experience in city government, get paid, and gain knowledge about the electoral process to convey in their schools and communities. We invite you to share this with your students and encourage them to apply for the Elections Ambassador Internship Program!

Download our Ambassador Program flyer to spread the word! If you have any questions or would like more information, please don't hesitate to email us at HSP@sfgov.org or call us at 415-554-4395.
