High School Student Research Opportunity

The Center

About the Kokosing Institute (website)

Young people are navigating a rapidly changing world shaped by AI, digital finance, and social media—yet policymakers and institutions remain disconnected from these realities. The Kokosing Institute is a student-led research initiative designed to capture, analyze, and amplify the real experiences of Gen Z in today’s digital economy.

We conduct original research, surveys, and policy analysis to understand how emerging technologies impact young people’s lives in order to bridge the gap between students and decision-makers.

We are currently recruiting high school students to help conduct this research and bring these issues to the forefront. No prior research experience is needed—just a willingness to explore pressing questions like:

  • How is AI disrupting jobs and education for young people?

  • Why are Gen Z investors losing billions in financial scams and memecoins?

  • Is social media rewiring how young people process truth, news, and politics?

  • What is fueling the explosion of online sports betting among young men?
