At the heart of the LOT® program lies a mission dedicated to involving students in impactful character-building and leadership experiences.
Our programming is carefully crafted to cultivate the skills to navigate intricate life scenarios. Through monthly skill-building sessions and workshops, students are empowered to enhance their abilities to overcome challenges. Our approach thrives on collaboration, bringing together dedicated advisors, passionate volunteers, and esteemed guest speakers who offer diverse perspectives and personal experiences spanning various industries.
Who?
Students in grades 9-12 are eligible to enroll in the LOT® Program. For the 2023-2024 academic year, up to 20 students will be chosen to participate in the SF Black MBA LOT® Program. A nominal $15 membership fee secures your place as a future leader.
What?
Instructional Workshops: Engaging sessions that equip students with valuable insights and skills, fostering their personal and intellectual growth.
Mentoring: Access to mentorship from accomplished individuals who are passionate about nurturing young talent and sharing their wisdom.
College Scholarships: Empowering students with the chance to pursue higher education through scholarships that recognize their potential and dedication
Case Competition:
When?
Weekly programming occurs January - June 2024. An informational session for parents will occur on January 20th and participants may attend their first session by March 2nd.
Where?
In person sessions will be held weekly in Oakland Libraries in East Oakland and Emeryville area. Travel will be coordinated for site visits occurring at corporate offices and/or nearby colleges in San Francisco and the broader Bay Area.
We will be meeting this Saturday 10am-11:30am at Cesar Chavez Library in East Oakland 3301 E 12th St #271, Oakland, CA 94601. The first session will have admissions representatives from UC Berkeley discussing key areas students need to prepare for college.
If you have any students that you think will be of interest please have them and their parent(s)/guardian(s) fill out the Student Application for participation. They can come to the session prior to filling out the form.
