Paid Summer Virtual Media Classes | BAYCAT

My name is Sabian Castalia and I’m the Program Coordinator at BAYCAT. We're changing the face of the media industry by offering young women, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ youth paid film and digital media training and empowering them to tell powerful, socially-conscious stories.

I'm reaching out to share information about our paid Summer 2021 virtual media classes, which we think could be a great opportunity for your youth!

BAYCAT Academy will be offering paid virtual two-week media classes in both graphic arts and filmmaking:

Graphic Arts: students will learn the fundamentals of design and use professional software to create static and motion graphics.

Filmmaking: students will learn the fundamentals of filmmaking and use professional software to create a short film.

The first two-week session, for High School students, runs from June 21 - July 1 (Graphic Arts offered 1-3 pm, Filmmaking offered 3:30-5:30 pm)

The second two-week session, for Middle School students, runs from July 12 - July 23 (Graphic Arts offered 1-3 pm, Filmmaking offered 3:30-5:30 pm)

Youth (ages 11-18) can sign up for one session and will receive a $500 stipend upon completion of the program.

Please share this with your partners and any youth that may be interested in applying.

For more information about our youth classes and paid opportunities, you can find us at https://www.baycat.org/

We are happy to speak with your group and do a presentation or answer any questions about the opportunity. Contact us at academy@baycat.org

Warmly,
