SF Strong Internship - Apply Now
My name is Athena MacDonald and I’m a junior at Urban. I’m part of a student-run Covid safety project that’s looking for unpaid interns and volunteers to further our mission of creating safe and informed San Francisco communities.
The project is called SF Strong, and aims to encourage individuals to follow official health and social distancing guidelines to help keep San Francisco communities safe during this pandemic. We know that a lot of students’ jobs and internships were canceled due to COVID-19, and we offer students a way to gain practical business skills through experience in digital outreach, graphic design, and meetings with a variety of professionals. The project itself consists of conducting digital and in-person (while Covid-safe) outreach that encourages individuals and businesses to put posters in their windows that promote the following of health guidelines. We also provide Covid safety information and SF case updates through Instagram and Facebook.
Students of any grade are welcome to apply! Our internship program is very low commitment, requiring only about five hours per week, though interns are welcome to commit as much of their time as they like. The project is exclusively intern-run, so we’re looking for creative and motivated students who are excited to learn and take a more active role in their communities. Anyone interested can fill out an Internship Application here.
For students who are too busy for a weekly commitment, we’re also looking for volunteers! Volunteers distribute posters and information sheets around their neighborhood, and it’s a great and easy way to support one’s community. Those interested can sign up at this form to volunteer with flexible hours and on a one time or recurring basis. Volunteering is open to anyone, student, or not.
More information about SF Strong can be found on our website and social media. Students interested in joining the team can also email us for more information on how to get started. Let me know if you have any questions!
All the best, ____________
