SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EQUITY WORKSHOP: AN EXPLORATION OF LOCAL, HISTORIC AND FUTURE CHANGE AGENTS
Join the San Francisco African American Historical & Cultural Society, San Francisco Human Rights Commission and University of San Francisco for an interactive, hands-on workshop for youth, programs, and individuals interested in learning about local heroes and advancing social justice in their communities.
This workshop will focus on individuals and efforts highlighted in the Change-Maker book and video, community resiliency, activism, and supporting future change-makers. Students at the University of San Francisco compiled biographies of African Americans in San Francisco who made a difference. This inspirational book highlights a variety of community leaders who each advanced social justice and equity in their own way.
The workshop explores strategies to help develop leadership skills, deepen understanding of social justice concepts, and shares tools to help advance change to social justice challenges.
