Summer Break Free Meals in Berkeley

Dear Constituents,

Last year, my bill SB 364, Free School Meals for All, established California as the first state in the nation to offer two free meals each day to all K-12 public school students while school is in session. With schools recessing for the summer, the city of Berkeley and Berkeley Unified School District have taken up the charge and are offering free meals during the summer break at numerous locations for youth ages 18 and younger.

Below is a list of the free summer meals sites in Berkeley. Previously, I sent a separate email that listed free summer meal sites in Oakland, San Leandro, and Emeryville. I will also send separate emails that list summer meal sites in Alameda and in West Contra Costa County, including Richmond.

The below free summer meals sites operated by either the city or BUSD are open to all youth 18 and under.

You can find more information about the city of Berkeley's free summer meals program here, and for more on BUSD's program, go here.

Please share this list with families in need. No child should go hungry just because school is out of session.

It is an honor serving you in the state Senate.

Sincerely,

Nancy Skinner State Senator, District
