Urban Sprouts | Paid Summer Internship


Urban Sprouts is now hiring for our two paid summer internship programs - Sprouting Leaders and Summer Sprouts. Both programs are for students enrolled in a SFUSD High School as of Fall 2020. The programs will be based primarily at the Urban Sprouts' Farm at June Jordan School for Equity right here in the Excelsior. Applications are due May 7th.

Sprouting Leaders is a paid six-week (June 11th – July 16th) summer internship for San Francisco youth ages 15 - 18. This program is ideal for students looking to improve their leadership skills and effect positive change in their communities through food justice, ecological gardening, and cooking. Participants complete approximately 144 hours of work with this program, during which they will cook meals for cohort and community events, participate in hands-on farming activities and work at the farmer’s market booth at Mission Community Market selling JJSE grown plants, flowers, and products. 5 open positions. Summer Sprouts is a paid four-week (June 22nd - July 15th) job readiness program for San Franciscan high-school youth ages 14-18 looking to effect positive change in their communities through food justice, ecological gardening, and cooking.  This four week, 60 hour program will be primarily based at the June Jordan School for Equity Farm & Kitchen. 20 open positions.
