This past Tuesday we successfully launched our first meeting with students virtually attending from across the Bay Area. Students indicated that they are seeking spaces with adults who can support and encourage them, especially with anxiety around the upcoming elections. The most profound statement came from a Latinx student who resides in the north bay, and said, "Thank you (peers) for sharing. I realize that I am not the only one who feels this way," referring to being one of the only students of color in her honors courses. This validates the workshops you both host for the adults who NEED to figure it out for these students.
Students have asked that we continue the club, but that we host our meetings every other week. Therefore, our next meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, November 3 (election day-student led decision).
